DVDs are an old format and not very high quality. We strongly recommend that you encode from the original master, in high-definition if possible.
If you absolutely must rip a DVD to upload, then please see our standard encoding guidelines and use MPEGStreamClip or Handbrake to convert the DVD to H.264.
